Are you a caregiver feeling stressed? What do you do about this?
There are many websites and a lot of information about how to de stress and unwind. Sometimes all this information can be overwhelming in itself. So if you have a few options to remember to help balance out the day it can be easier. Creating balance each day in our own lives helps us with caring for our clients and family. How many times do you say- “I don’t have time to care for myself?”
If you don’t take care of yourself – who will? You deserve the time and attention to keep yourself mentally and physically strong. Here are some of my favorites:
Go outside and take a walk– this is a perfect way to have some time for yourself, enjoy the fresh air, and a new environment. Just moving forward is a benefit and clearing your mind of the days worries.
Breathing- DEEP breathing is so relaxing and peaceful. Breathe in thru your nose gently and out thru your mouth gently. – inhale- good energy, exhale – the stressors of the day. Light a candle or listen to music as you breathe and relax.
Exercising- This is probably the last thing you want to do after a long day. Stretching and doing light exercises can rejuvenate you. There are so many yoga and exercise classes for free on line. Do it with the whole family! Usually we do this with our friends or at the gym unfortunately we cannot do this safely with covid. Do facetime with your friends and exercise together.
Friends and Family- sometimes you just need to talk to someone to keep in touch with those that you love and care for. Reaching out to others can take your mind off of your stressors. If you cannot talk- then text or message or email them. Reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a long while.
Hobbies and interests- remember what you like to do when you are not working? What are your hobbies? Knitting, woodworking, crafts, sports, reading, painting and gardening? Is there something you want to learn to do? Take a class. This does take some energy to take up an interest but it can be so rewarding.
Indulge yourself- watch your favorite movie or TV show, read a book, eat some ice cream, buy something new that you have wanted and saved up for. You are worth it and these small indulgences can help perk you up after a stressful day. Sometimes taking time off from work is important in order to rebalance. This is another good website for ideas: https://lotsahelpinghands.com/
If stress continues to build up, burnout is more likely to occur. So taking some preventive action now is important. These are challenging times and knowing how to adapt and make healthy changes is vital. After giving so much to others, you need to take care of yourself.
Let us know how you are caring for yourself. Send us a message or email for our pdf on building blocks for health or our Happy Health Record Book. Number One cares about you – you are Number One to us!!
At least #1 Male Urinal won’t stress you out!
We saw a problem and created a solution: http://www.male-urinal.com
PROBLEM: Our Dad was paralyzed from a stroke. In taking care of him, we tried every product on the market and quickly discovered typical urinals spill, catheters are associated with urinary tract infections and diapers are associated with skin breakdowns…and humiliation.
A cheap urinal spills and makes costly problems. What is the REAL cost of a $6 urinal? About $3 to $11 per day. The REAL cost for a urinal that spills includes purchasing and using more blue pads, cleaning soiled and dirty linen, skin care treatment, nursing time and energy to cleanup and care for spills…plus MD costs if it turns into an infection. Also it can lead to depression, humiliation, exhaustion & frustration.
SOLUTION: We were caregivers, not product designers but we wanted to make a “better bottle” that didn’t spill so much. You could say that love created this product. We designed and patented Number One Male Urinal with Soft Seal and it is a strong solution for helping men managing incontinence. NUMBER ONE with Soft Seal is effective incontinence manageme
Our patented features have resulted in a better bottle that is slip, tip and spill proof with our Soft Seal band. Expect fewer spills and a happier gentleman.
It all started with a clay model so many years ago when I asked myself a question: How can I design a bottle that won’t spill. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t cheap…but we did it. #1 Male Urinal with Soft Seal has exceeded all of our expectations. Our patented bottle design is hands free, stable and resists spills. Our new Soft Seal silicone band covers the opening and softens contact with plastic edges. Put the lid on and Soft Seal makes #1 spill and leakproof.
Where are we now? We are looking to sell 250 products asap and reorder in these crazy economic times. We are a micro family business with a macro product. We created a simple solution to a major problem. But, we need your help to succeed. If you know of any distributors or stores, please let us know: firstname.lastname@example.org We hope you will join us on this journey.
Good Morning!!! We have a great new product we are introducing….Number One Fresh Drops! Fresh Drops is a wonderful deodorizer for your urinal.
I looked in the mirror and asked myself if I was allergic to money! I have built a great product and business. What was keeping me from success? My time. If this is going to work, I have to know that I have to make an appointment for success to happen. What did I do today? I made a prototype of a new product and I contracted the distributor that is interested in a private label! Yeah…I am doing it.
After years of Caregiving and also working professionally in the field, we developed an easy to use record book for all patients. We know that organization is key to enhancing the quality of life for patients…and their caregivers. This is a daily diary of a great recovery…and also a handy reference for communicating with Emergency room visits and Doctors appointments.
